العَرْضَة
رقصة رجالية متعددة الأساليب، تؤدى في عدّة مناسبات (الأعياد، الزواج، الاحتفال بكبار القوم)، تُمارس أمام البيوت في الساحات، يرفع الرجال أثناء الرقصة السيوف أو العصي، يقف الرجال في صفين متقابلين بينهم شاعر يردّد بعضاً من الأبيات على مسامع الرجال ليردّدوها من بعده؛ وهي ما يسمونها "الشيلة"، تُقام في المملكة العربية السعودية بكافة مناطقها.
AL-ARDAH
A men’s dance with multiple styles, performed on a range of occasions — including Eid celebrations, weddings, and ceremonies honouring community leaders. It is typically staged in open courtyards in front of homes. Men raise swords or sticks as they dance in two facing rows, while a poet positioned between them chants verses that the participants repeat in response, a practice known as Ash-Sheelah. This tradition is performed across all regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

ART WEEK RIYADH
An art initiative organised by the Visual Arts Commission in Riyadh, aimed at showcasing the artistic scene and strengthening the city’s position as a global cultural hub. It features local and international exhibitions, workshops, talks, and artistic performances that support artistic exchange and promote cultural dialogue between artists and audiences.

موقع أثري شمال غرب مدينة سكاكا بمنطقة الجوف، يعود إلى عصور ما قبل التاريخ، ويضم أدوات حجرية ورسومًا صخرية ومستوطَنات بشرية تعكس قِدم الاستيطان في المنطقة.

ASH-SHUWAYHITIYAH
An archaeological site northwest of Sakaka in the Al-Jouf Region, dating back to prehistoric times. It features stone tools, rock art, and human settlements reflecting the antiquity of inhabitation in the region.

A form of hand-embroidery using gold or silver threads. Used in traditional crafts to accentuate motifs with precision on garments. It reflects luxury and heritage.

فعالية أدبية تنظمها هيئة الأدب والنشر والترجمة في المملكة العربية السعودية، تُعنى بتنمية الحراك الأدبي وتعزيز علاقة الطفل بعالم الأدب. تتضمن ورش عمل وأنشطة تفاعلية وبرامج موجهة للأطفال وأسرهم، تسهم في تنمية شغف القراءة والكتابة واكتشاف المواهب الأدبية لدى النشء.
CHILDREN’S LITERARY WEEK
A literary initiative organised by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, dedicated to developing literary engagement and strengthening children’s connection to literature. It features workshops, interactive activities, and programmes for children and their families, fostering a passion for reading and writing while discovering young literary talent.

موقع تراثي، من مواقع منطقة الجوف، جنوب شرق مدينة سكاكا، عُثر في الموقع على مكتشفات أثرية تعود إلى العصر النحاسي، قبل 7 آلاف عام.
COLUMNS OF RAJAJIL
A heritage site in the Al-Jawf Region, located southeast of Sakaka. Archaeological finds were discovered at the site dating back to the Chalcolithic (Copper Age), 7,000 years ago.
أُوبِرِيت شَعْبِي
شكل من أشكال العروض الفنية العربية الحديثة، ذاع في الثقافة الغربية ثمّ برزَ في الثقافة العربية، اشتُهرت به المملكة العربية السعودية خاصةً في مهرجان الجنادرية.
FOLK OPERETTA
A form of contemporary Arabic performing arts that flourished in Western culture before emerging within Arab culture. It became particularly renowned in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, especially at the Al-Janadriyah Festival.

GENERAL AUTHORITY OF MEDIA REGULATION
A regulatory body responsible for overseeing all forms of media. It supervises and monitors advertising activities and regulates media practices undertaken by individuals, companies, and institutions across various media outlets.

مؤتمر ومعرض عالمي يُنظّم في مدينة جدة، يُجسّد رسالة المملكة في خدمة الحجاج، ويجمع القيادات والخبراء من مختلف القطاعات لإبراز الجهود التطويرية في منظومة الحج، وتعزيز التكامل والابتكار واستشراف مستقبلها بما يواكب مستهدفات رؤية المملكة 2030.
HAJJ EXPO
A global conference and exhibition held in Jeddah that embodies the Kingdom’s mission to serve pilgrims. It brings together leaders and experts from various sectors to showcase development efforts within the Hajj ecosystem, strengthen integration and innovation, and anticipate its future in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

المتحف الوطني الرئيسي في المملكة العربية السعودية، صرح متحفي يضمّ ثماني قاعات، كلّ قاعة تُمثّل مرحلةً من تاريخ الجزيرة العربية، تضمّ الكثير من المنقولات الأثرية، وتتميز بعرض متحفي متطور وأفلام تروي قصصاً مهمةً في التاريخ.
NATIONAL MUSEUM OF SAUDI ARABIA
The primary national museum in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; a museum landmark comprising eight galleries, each representing a stage of the Arabian Peninsula’s history. It houses numerous movable archaeological artefacts and is characterised by advanced museum displays and films that narrate significant historical stories.

فن شعري يقوم على محاورة متبادلة بين الشعراء، ومنه قصائد العرضة التي تقوم على الجناس التام: ويعني تماثل اللفظ واختلاف المعنى، وبعض القصائد تعتمد على الجناس الناقص أي تماثل حرف أو اثنين في آخر البيت، ويكثر هذا اللون في منطقة الباحة.
POETIC DIALOGUE
A poetic art form founded on reciprocal dialogue between poets. It encompasses Ardah poems that employ complete paronomasia—utilising identical wording with differing meanings—whilst other verses rely on partial paronomasia, involving the repetition of specific letters at the end of the line. This style is particularly prevalent in the Al-Baha Region.

ʾīdām riǧlah
PURSLANE STEW
A traditional dish prepared by simmering Ar-Rijlah leaves (purslane leaves) with onions and spices; it is believed to offer significant health benefits. Purslane is an edible herb that grows in the regions of Jazan and Hail.

أعمال فنية سينمائية، شارك في إنتاجها فنانون سعوديون، تُعبّر مواضيعها المختلفة عن الهوية الثقافية والنسيج الاجتماعي في المجتمع السعودي، تطورت بعد فتح دور السينما في المملكة سنة 2018م.
SAUDI FILMS
Cinematic works produced with the participation of Saudi filmmakers and artists, whose diverse themes express the cultural identity and social fabric of Saudi society, and which developed after the opening of cinemas in the Kingdom in 2018.
المُنْتَدَى السُّعُودِي لِلإِعْلَام
ملتقى إعلامي يُعنى بإبراز الدور الإعلامي المتميّز للمملكة العربيّة السعوديّة على المستوى العالمي، ويُسلّط الضوء على مساهمة المملكة في بناء مجتمعٍ متطوّرٍ إعلاميًّا، مع التركيز على تعزيز التعاون بين المؤسّسات الإعلاميّة الوطنيّة ونظيراتها العالميّة.
SAUDI MEDIA FORUM
A media forum that highlights the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s distinguished role in the global media landscape. It sheds light on its contribution to building an advanced media sector, with particular emphasis on strengthening cooperation between national media institutions and their international counterparts.
المُتْحَف السُّعُودِي لِلْفَن المُعَاصِر
متحف وطني للهوية السعودية البصرية والصوتية المعاصرة، يُعبر عن رؤية 2030 للمملكة، تُعرض فيه القطع الفنية المعاصرة، يمتاز بأنّه نتاج لتعاون وزارة الثقافة مع هيئة تطوير بوابة الدرعية، أُسّس سنة 2019م.
SAUDI MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART
A national museum of contemporary Saudi visual and audio identity, expressing the Saudi Vision 2030, where contemporary artworks are displayed. Established in 2019, it was formed through a collaboration between the Ministry of Culture and the Diriyah Gate Development Authority.

THE NATIONAL FESTIVAL FOR HERITAGE AND CULTURE (JANADRIYAH)
A cultural and heritage festival launched in Riyadh in 1985, and one of the oldest festivals in Saudi Arabia. It aims to highlight national heritage and strengthen its presence. The festival features diverse cultural and heritage activities, including folk arts and performances, as well as model buildings representing the Kingdom’s regions. It is considered one of the most prominent events dedicated to Saudi heritage.

تجمُّعٌ لمساجدِ شمالي المدينة المنورة، ذات قيمة تاريخية مرتبطة بغزوة الأحزاب، حيث أقام النبي عليه الصلاة والسلام معسكره هناك.
THE SEVEN MOSQUES
A cluster of mosques in the northern part of Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, historically significant for their association with the Battle of the Trench (Al-Ahzab), where the Prophet (peace be upon him) established his camp.
